Here is the list of the 100 most famous worldwide cocktails.
These are the recipes that inspired us so much for our first creations.

As i found this list in a french book, the measures are also... in french (l = litre, cl = centilitre).
In order to "lighten" this page, the Garnishing is left to your own care in most cases, except when it is essential for the beverage's taste.

    Garnishing : Sprinkle with nutmeg or chocolate powder.


    Americano

  • 4 cl Campari
  • 4 cl sweet vermouth
  • Finish with soda water

    Anecdote : Serve with a blending stick.


    Angel's tit

  • 7,5 cl crème de cacao (white)
  • 7,5 cl cherry
  • 3,75 cl cream
  • 3,75 cl milk

    Preparation : Pour softly in a liqueur glass the ingredients in the order above, in order to make each "float" above the previous.


    Artillery punch

  • 1 l bourbon
  • 1 l red wine
  • 1/2 l dark rum
  • 1/4 l apricot brandy
  • 1/4 l gin
  • 1 l black tea, strong
  • 1/2 l orange juice
  • 12,5 cl lemon juice
  • 12,5 cl lime juice
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

    Preparation : Have it macerate in the cold a few hours. Add ice and lemon and lime slices before serving.


    Aztec punch

  • 2 l tequila
  • 2 l grapefruit juice
  • 12,5 cl triple sec
  • 1 l black tea, strong
  • 12,5 cl lemon juice
  • 18 cl almond syrup
  • 1,5 cl orange bitter
  • cinnamon

    Anecdote : For 40 persons.

  • 2 cl Kahlua
  • 2 cl Baileys
  • 2 cl Grand Marnier Preparation : Pour softly in a liqueur glass the ingredients in the order above, in order to make each "float" above the previous.


    B and B

  • 4 cl cognac
  • 4 cl Bénédictine

    Garnishing : One pinch cinnamon.


    Bacardi

  • 6 cl white rum "Bacardi"
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 1 dash grenadine

  • 4,5 cl white rum
  • 1,5 cl triple sec

    Bishop

  • 8 cl orange juice
  • 6 cl lemon juice
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • Finish with red Burgundy wine

    Preparation : Add 1 tea spoon rum before serving.


    Black Jack

  • 4,5 cl black coffee, cold


    Black Russian

  • 4 cl Kahlua Anecdote : For a Black Cloud, substitute Kahlua with Tia Maria.


    Black Velvet

    Pour into a Pilsener glass (33 cl) :

  • 15 cl brown ale, cold
  • 15 cl extra-dry Champagne, cold


    Bloody Mary

  • 4 cl vodka
  • 16 cl tomato juice
  • du celery salt
  • 1 or 2 drop(s) Tabasco
  • 2 or 3 drops Worcestershire sauce

    Anecdote : You may add 2 or 3 dashes lemon juice.


    Blue lagoon

  • 6 cl vodka
  • 3 cl blue curaçao
  • 6 cl pineapple juice
  • 3-5 dashes triple sec


    Bosom caresser

  • 2 cl dry vermouth (or less, the less vermouth, tre drier the cocktail)

    Garnishing : One olive at the bottom of the glass.


    Dubonnet cocktail

  • 6 cl gin
  • 4,5 cl red Dubonnet
  • 1 dash Angostura

  • 4 cl Drambuie
  • 2 cl orange juice
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 1 egg


    Egg nog

  • 24 cl milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 soup spoon sugar
  • 1 tea spoon almond extract
  • 1 tea spoon vanilla extract

    Preparation : Shake then strain into a big coffee cup. Add cream and sprinkle with nutmeg.


    Fuzzy navel

  • 6 cl vodka
  • 3 cl Peach schnapps
  • 24 cl orange juice


    Gibson

  • 6 cl gin
  • 1 dash dry vermouth

    Garnishing : One vinegar onion.


    Gimlet

  • 6 cl gin
  • 2 cl lime juice
  • 1 tea spoon sugar syrup

    Garnishing : One lime slice.

    Anecdote : You may finish with soda water.


    Gin Fizz

  • 4 cl gin
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 2 cl sugar syrup

    Preparation : Shake, strain, finish with soda water.


    Gin Sling

  • 6 cl gin
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • 6 cl lemon juice
  • 1 tea spoon orange juice

    Preparation : Shake, strain, finish with soda water and add 1 cl cherry brandy. Serve with straws.


    Golden cadillac

  • 4 cl Galliano
  • 4 cl crème de cacao (white)
  • 4 cl cream


    Grasshopper

  • 4 cl crème de cacao (white)
  • 4 cl crème de menthe (green)
  • 4 cl cream


    Grog

    Pour into a coffee cup :

  • 4 cl dark rum
  • 1 sugar chunk
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Finish with boiling water


    Harvey wallbanger

  • 6 cl vodka
  • 10 cl orange juice
  • 2 tea spoons Galliano

    Anecdote : Serve with a straw and a blending stick.


    Honeymoon

  • 3 or 6 cl calvados
  • 3 cl Bénédictine
  • 3 cl lemon juice
  • 2 or 3 dashes Cointreau


    Hot pants

  • 6 cl tequila silver
  • 1,5 cl Pippermint
  • 1,5 cl grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 tea spoon powdered sugar Preparation : Frost the glass' edges with salt.


    Hurricane

  • 4,5 cl white rum
  • 4,5 cl dark rum
  • 1 soup spoon lime juice
  • 3 cl passion fruit syrup


    Irish Coffee

    Heat a glass, then pour into black hot coffee to the 3/4th. Add :

  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • 4 cl Irish Whiskey

    Preparation : Coat with cream and serve hot.


    Jack Rose

  • 4 cl calvados
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • the juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 3 dashes grenadine


    John Collins

  • 4 cl genever
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 2 cl sugar syrup
  • Finish with soda water

    Anecdote : Serve with a blending stick and 2 straws.


    Kamikaze

  • 4 cl vodka
  • 2 or 4 cl triple sec
  • 2 or 4 cl lime juice


    Kir

  • 1 or 2 dash(es) crème de cassis
  • Finish with white wine Anecdote : For a Kir royal, substitute the wine with champagne and the glass with a champagne cup.


    Kiss me quick

  • 6 cl Pernod
  • 1 tea spoon triple sec
  • 3-5 dashes Angostura Preparation : Shake, strain and finish with soda water.


    Long Island iced tea

  • 6 cl vodka
  • 3 cl gin
  • 3 cl tequila
  • 3 cl white rum
  • 1,5 cl crème de menthe (white)
  • 6 cl lemon juice
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar Preparation : Shake, strain and finish with coca cola. Garnish with one lime chunk.


    Los Angeles

  • 6 cl Scotch whisky
  • 1 dash sweet vermouth
  • 3 cl lemon juice
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • 1 egg


    Mai Tai

  • 6 cl white rum
  • 6 cl dark rum
  • 3 cl blue curaçao
  • 3 cl lime juice
  • 1 soup spoon grenadine or sugar syrup
  • 1 soup spoon almond syrup
  • 1 egg


    Manhattan

  • 4 cl bourbon (or rye whisky)
  • 2 cl sweet vermouth
  • 1 dash Angostura


    Margarita

  • 4 cl tequila
  • 4 cl lemon or lime juice
  • 2 cl Cointreau

    Preparation : Frost the glass with lemon juice and salt.


    Mauresque

  • 4 cl pastis
  • 1 cl almond syrup
  • Finish with chilled water


    Metropolitan

  • 6 cl cognac
  • 3 cl sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • 1 dash Angostura


    Millionaire

  • 6 cl bourbon
  • 3 cl Pernod
  • 1/2 tea spoon triple sec
  • 1/2 tea spoon grenadine
  • 1 egg's white


    Mint Julep

    Squeeze with the back of a spoon 10-15 mint leaves and 1 tea spoon powdered sugar into an Old-fashioned. Add crushed ice and 9 cl bourbon.


    Morning glory (Fizz)

  • 4 cl cognac
  • 2 cl curaçao
  • 2 dashes pastis
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar
  • 2 dashes Angostura Preparation : Shake, strain and finish with soda water.


    Moscow mule

  • 9 cl vodka
  • 1 soup spoon lime juice
  • Finish with ginger beer


    Negroni

  • 4 cl gin
  • 4 cl Campari
  • 4 cl sweet vermouth


    Nirvana

  • 6 cl dark rum
  • 1,5 cl grenadine
  • 1,5 cl tamarin syrup
  • 1 tea spoon sugar syrup
  • Finish with grapefruit juice


    Old Fashioned

    Put into an Old-fashioned one sugar and 2 or 3 dashes Angostura on it. Add a little water to melt the sugar. Mix with a spoon. Add a few ice cubes, then 1 measure Bourbon. Serve with a blending stick.


    Paradise

  • 4 cl gin
  • 2 cl apricot brandy
  • 1 tea spoon orange juice


    Perroquet

  • 4 cl pastis
  • 1 cl mint syrup
  • Finish with chilled water


    Pimms n°1 Cup

  • 8 cl Pimms n°1
  • Finish with soda water


    Piña Colada

  • 4 cl white rum
  • 8 cl pineapple juice
  • 2 cl coconut cream
  • 1 cl cream

  • 6 cl gin
  • 1 or 2 dash(es) Angostura

  • 2 cl gin
  • 2 cl Grand Marnier
  • 1 cl orange juice
  • 1 cl lemon juice


    Rhum Collins

  • 4 cl white rum
  • 1 tea spoon sugar syrup
  • 1/2 lime juice squeezed and then dropped into the glass
  • Finish with soda water


    Rob Roy

  • 4 cl Scotch whisky
  • 2 cl sweet vermouth
  • 1 dash Angostura


    Rose

  • 4 cl gin
  • 2 cl dry vermouth
  • 2 cl cherry brandy


    Rusty nail

  • 4 cl Scotch whisky
  • 4 cl Drambuie


    Sangria

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 4 tea spoons sugar
  • 8 cl cognac
  • 8 cl Cointreau
  • the juice of 1 orange
  • the juice of 1/2 lemon

    Preparation : Add oranges and lemons slices, peaches and apricots chunks. Put in the cold a few hours and finish with soda water before serving.
    For 4-6 persons.


    Scarlett O'Hara

  • 6 cl Southern Comfort
  • 6 cl blueberry juice
  • 3 cl lime juice


    Scorpion

  • 5 cl white rum
  • 1 cl cognac
  • 4 cl orange juice

  • 6 cl vodka

  • 6 cl vodka

    Singapore Sling

    Squeeze 1/2 lime above the glass add drop it. Add :

  • Finish with soda water

    Anecdote : Serve with straws.


    Sloe comfortable screw

  • 6 cl vodka
  • 3 cl Southern Comfort
  • 1,5 cl sloe gin
  • Finish with orange juice


    Snowball

  • 4 cl Advokaat
  • 1 dash lime juice
  • 1 dash sugar syrup
  • Finish with lemonade


    Sours

  • 4 cl bourbon, Scotch or rye whisky
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 1 tea spoon powdered sugar


    Stinger

  • 6 cl cognac
  • 2 cl crème de menthe (white)


    Suffering bastard

    Pour 1 soup spoon Angostura into the glass, turn it while inclining it in order to coat all the inside with the angostura, and drop the excess. Fill the glass with ice and add 6 cl gin, 4,5 cl cognac, 1,5 cl lime juice and 1 tea spoon sugar syrup. Stir well and finish with ginger beer.


    Suissesse

  • 4 cl Pernod
  • 1 dash Anisette
  • 1 dash crème de menthe (white)
  • 1 egg's white
  • A few drops orange-flower water


    Tequila sunrise

  • 4 cl tequila
  • Finish with orange juice
  • 2 cl grenadine

    Preparation : Do not mix. Serve with 2 straws and a blending stick.


    Ti' Punch

  • 4 cl white rum
  • 1 or 2 cl lime juice
  • 1 or 2 cl sugar syrup


    Tom and Jerry

    Mix 1 egg's white and 1 egg's yolk into a big cup. Add powdered sugar and 6 cl white rum, 3 cl cognac and 18 cl hot milk. Stir and sprinkle with nutmeg.


    Tomate

  • 4 cl pastis
  • 1 cl grenadine
  • Finish with chilled water


    White Lady

  • 6 cl gin
  • 2 cl Cointreau
  • 2 cl lime juice


    Zombie

  • 1,5 cl white rum
  • 2 cl dark rum
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 3 cl orange juice
  • 1 dash lime juice
  • 0,5 cl crème de noyau
  • 0,5 cl Grand Marnier
  • 1 dash grenadine

    Anecdote : Servir avec deux pailles.
